In March, Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, and its partner McCarthy Cook & Co. finalized an agreement with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and closed on the financing for the new Neurosciences Building on the Mission Bay Campus. The Neurosciences Building will be delivered under a public-private partnership arrangement with UCSF. Edgemoor / McCarthy Cook Partners (EMCP) has entered into lease-leaseback arrangement with UCSF whereby EMCP will deliver the building for a fixed price, schedule, and lease rate, and then operate and maintain the facility for 38 years. At the end of the lease term, the building’s ownership will transfer back to UCSF. Clark Construction is serving as the project’s design-builder and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill is the designer. Mobilization at the site has already begun, with an official groundbreaking scheduled for early May 2010. The project will be delivered in 2012.
