On December 14th, members of University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Real Estate Services, scientists, and other UCSF representatives came together to celebrate the nearly complete Neurosciences Building. The lunchtime event was kicked-off by members of the Edgemoor / McCarthy Cook Development team, and was followed by building tours. With completion targeted for February 2012, construction activities in the building are focused on finalizing the finishes. Commissioning activities are underway to ensure the building systems are operating efficiently. The development and construction teams are also working closely with the UCSF scientists and the UCSF Real Estate Services Team, to coordinate furniture and tenant move-in activities that will occur in the Spring. Edgemoor Real Estate Services, and its partner McCarthy Cook & Co, under a public-private partnership agreement with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), are developing, financing, designing, constructing, and managing the new Neurosciences Building on UCSF's Mission Bay Campus. This project supports the continued facility growth at UCSF during times of budget and economic uncertainty. Home to the UCSF Department of Neurology, the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases and the W.M. Keck Foundation Center for Integrative Neuroscience, the 235,000 square-foot, cast-in-place concrete structure will become one of the largest neuroscience complexes in the world.
