The position would be based in McLean, VA. Reporting to an Edgemoor Managing Director, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. The primary roles and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
*Foster and contribute to an environment of trust and collaboration
*Lead and support current and future Edgemoor pursuits and projects
*For pursuits:
- Identify new opportunities, analyze feasibility/attractiveness, and pursue good leads
- Foster and form strategic pursuit partnerships
- Draft proposals to respond to solicitations
- Participate and support presentations to clients
- Procure and manage integrated pursuit teams of consultants
- Budget projects
- Support and help structure project financing
- Assist in the negotiation of contractual arrangements, both with project partners and owners/clients
*For development projects:
- Develop and foster good relationships/rapport with the client, stakeholders, and the community
- Procure and manage third-party consultants
- Work with design manager to complete the project design
- Manage/oversee public outreach
- Obtain permits and entitlements
- Coordinate with utility service providers
- Provide monthly update reports
- Manage project to budget, submit monthly payment requisitions
- Provide construction oversight, including overseeing the work of the design-builder, change order management, and quality control
- Coordinate turnover and move-in
- Assist in asset management/operations & maintenance, if needed
*Represent Edgemoor in a positive way at industry events, conferences, and in the communities we serve
*Lead and support Edgemoor initiatives across the firm
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing complicated infrastructure and/or master real estate development projects, ideally including institutional
- Knowledge of the design, construction and development process
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a desire to develop new business
- Well organized while being able to multi-task (including an attention to detail)
- Experience working in fast-paced environments
- Ability to understand complex legal documents
- Experience building or working in Excel financial models
- Strong knowledge of real estate finance, public finance, and/or project finance
- Prior experience in working on a full range of development responsibilities from project conceptualization/planning through site planning and zoning through financing through construction management
- Experience working with public sector clients is a plus
- Collaborative, team player, yet self-starting work style

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
5 - 10 years of relevant work experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in construction, engineering, architecture, real estate, finance or other relevant specialization. MBA or equivalent degree preferred but not required if strong relevant experience.
