University of Kansas Board of Regents Tour Integrated Science Building, Student Union, and Central Utility Plant

The new Integrated Science Building (ISB) will be a place for teaching, collaboration, and state-of-the-art research.

Key project staff from Edgemoor, KU, and Clark/McCownGordon were on-hand for the ISB/student union/CUP tour, which included a stop in the mock-up lab and other teaching classroom space, along with a few tower A research and core labs as well as a view of the new auditorium. The tour continued into the new student union and CUP, and the Regents were also shown the recently completed parking garage as well as the student residence hall and dining center and student apartments - both of which are currently under construction.

Spread over 55 acres, the Central District Development Project will include a number of new facilities and spaces for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors to enjoy for years to come, including the Integrated Science Building (ISB), a new student union, a Central Utility Plant (CUP), 1,250 beds of student housing in three buildings, a dining center, and approximately 2,000 parking spaces (including a new parking deck).

Innovative solutions for the built environment.
